| Artist Statement I am a simple man with a lively imagination. Vivid experiences, wondering thoughts and skewed perspectives compel me to express what I see and feel. Painting allows me the opportunity to share those sentiments, with a world that so graciously gifted the inspiration. Many concepts and reworking of sketches go into the foundation of each piece. Searching diligently for images, and a composition that best communicates the story being unveiled. Larger canvases give me a sense of freedom and space to move around as I use bold acrylic colors, while seeking to instill intrigue, keeping the whole process vibrantly alive. I strive to relate experiences that are uniquely familiar to others. At its core, my paintings are a process of self-expression coupled with an attempt to attract an appreciative audience. Without either they are simply pictures. |
